Chhattisgarh-Odisha Border Encounter: 12 Maoists Killed

In a major operation, 12 Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces near the Chhattisgarh-Odisha border. The joint operation, which began on Sunday, involved multiple security agencies, including the Odisha and Chhattisgarh police.

The operation was led by CRPF units and took place in forested areas along the Nuapada district border in Odisha and the Gariabandh district border in Chhattisgarh. Following the encounter, a large cache of weapons was recovered from the site. Among those killed is reportedly a Maoist leader with a bounty of ₹1 crore on his head.

The operation comes shortly after the killing of two female Maoists in an earlier encounter with COBRA forces in Chhattisgarh. This brings the total number of Maoists killed in the past two days to 14.
