India Makes History with Five Medals in a Single Day at the Paralympics

India achieved the highest achievement in the history of Paralympics. India has won 20 medals so far, surpassing the record at the Tokyo Paralympics. Yesterday only 5 medals were added in the name of India. In men’s high jump T63, Sharad Kumar won silver and Mariyappan Thangavelu bronze.

Ajeet Singh won silver and Sundar Singh Gurjar won bronze in the F46 javelin throw final. Deepti Jeevanji also won bronze in 400m T20. India has shown a brilliant performance in just one day. Sumit Antil won India’s third gold in men’s javelin throw F64 with a record of 70.59m. India won 20 medals including three gold, seven silver and 10 bronze.

India is ranked 19th in the list. China topped the list with 112 medals, including 51 gold. Britain is second and America is third. The Paralympics, which started on August 29, will continue until September 8. 4,400 athletes from around the world compete in 549 medal events across 22 sports.
