Kerala filed a petition against the President in the Supreme Court

New Delhi: Kerala has taken an unusual move against President Draupadi Murmu. The state government filed a writ petition in the court citing delay in the decision on the bills passed by the assembly. Apart from the President, the Secretary and the Governor have also been impleaded in the case.

This kind of move is to raise the objection that there is an interference that interferes with the legislative right of the state. The President has some bills. Those bills are not endorsed and returned in due time. These are bills that the governor has delayed for years. So a decision on these bills should be timely.

The Governor had sent 7 bills to the President when the Government approached the Supreme Court against the Governor stating that the Bills were withheld without signing. The Lokayukta Bills were approved by the President. 4 bills were denied permission. A decision on 2 bills is yet to come.

Therefore, the demand of Kerala is to intervene in the matter and direct the court to complete the procedures related to the bill.
