Customs Court directed to investigate M A Yusuff Ali's involvement in Kerala Gold Smuggling Case

Taking cognizance of the statement given by T P Nandakumar, popularly known as Crime Nandakumar, the activist and Chief Editor of Crime magazine, before the Customs Court in Kochi, Kerala today, the court has given direction to investigate about the involvement of business tycoon M A Yusuff Ali in the Kerala gold smuggling case.

Today the revelation was made by T P Nandakumar as the diplomatic baggage in which the gold was smuggled last year recorded M A Yusuff Ali’s name as return address. No probe was done on this matter till now as Yusuf Ali is one of the biggest business tycoons in Kerala. Nandakumar alleges that Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case, also had provided strong evidence against Yusuff Ali in the court earlier. She had submitted a bail application before she got arrested in which it clearly stated that the diplomatic baggage should be sent back to a person named Fahad Ashraf through Yusuff Ali. No probing agency investigated the relation between Fahad Ashraf and Yusuff Ali.

Nandakumar alleges that all these evidences are pointing towards Yusuff Ali’s involvement in the gold smuggling case. Nandakumar also points out that Yusuff Ali has got a strong relation with swapna and he is also a prominent figure among Kerala left leaders. He has got strong connections in the Kerala Left government. He has also got good relations with the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as Yusuff Ali was the person who bribed the High court judge on behalf of Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC-Lavalin Case.
