A section of people said that vendors on Kanwar pilgrimage routes run by Hindu devotees would not display boards bearing the names of their owners. It is a strict order of the Uttar Pradesh government that shops on the roads where devotees pass must display the names of their owners. Those who do not do this will be prosecuted
Now the matter has reached the Supreme Court. A section of people say that this will create religious sectarianism and if the names are displayed, there will be sectarianism in the choice of shops among the devotees of the Kanwar Yatra. It is said that this will seriously affect our business and close the business
But the UP government is asking that if the names of the shop owners are written down, how can the business be closed? Kanwar devotees have religious rituals. They should have access to cleanly prepared dishes. Halal food is not for them. Halal is anti-Hinduism. Kan War is against the beliefs of ordinary people. The UP government also says that the traders should write down the names of the owners to identify them
The Uttar Pradesh government has vehemently opposed the petitions questioning the proposal to display their names prominently by shopkeepers along the Kanwar Yatra. The UP government said in a detailed statement to the Supreme Court that the order was issued to ensure a peaceful and orderly pilgrimage. The Kanwar Yatra, an annual pilgrimage in which Shiva devotees known as Kanwariyas travel to fetch holy water from the river Ganges, has made it clear in a detailed statement to the Supreme Court. Millions of people participate every year.
On July 22, the Supreme Court had issued an order prohibiting the enforcement of public notices by the police in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district. The Supreme Court had also stayed orders to shopkeepers and vendors along the Kanwar Yatra routes to display their names along with the names of their employees. A bench consisting of SVN Bhatti intervened in the matter. Now the UP government has given an explanation in the court in this case.
Regardless of the name information, a section of traders along these routes started exhibiting. That means one section opposes the government order while another section displays the names of the shop owners as per the order. There is no court order saying that those who display the names should not do so. The UP government sees it as a victory when the names of the shops are displayed in a category. Officials of the UP government say that this will help Kanwar Yatra devotees to choose the shops of their choice and eat according to their fast.
The KanWar Yatra is an annual pilgrimage for Shiva devotees. Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri are among the Hindu pilgrimage centers of Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri. Hindus come not only from the country but also from many parts of the world. Millions of pilgrims participate in this to bring the holy water of the river Ganga. This holy water is offered in special temples like Pura Mahadeva Temple, Augharnath Temple in Meerut and Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. The participants will be ritualistically a saint and a Vritham note comer.
