Prime Minister will talk to widows of martyred soldiers. Modi will also initiate the construction of the Shinku La Tunnel to facilitate the movement of troops along the border. The 4.1 km long twin tunnel is being constructed on the Nimmu – Patum – Darcha road at an altitude of 15,800 feet. It can be used in all weather conditions. It is the tallest tunnel in the world.
There have been many post-independence Pakistani provocations, taking advantage of India’s restraint to encroach on the border and conduct shadow wars. Among them, the Kargil war is unparalleled in the history of world wars. It is a victory or victory day for our brave soldiers who hold together the feeling of India with different language and different cultures. Since May 1999, 527 jawans have sacrificed their lives for the nation in the war that lasted for two months.
