Delhi: Name change inside Rashtrapati Bhavan. The names of two halls inside the official residence of the President have been changed. The Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan has been given a new name as Ganatantra Mandap Ashok Hall was also renamed Ashok Mandap. President Draupadi Murmu ordered to change the names.
In the order, the President explains that Durbar is a term that reminds us of the days of the Raj and British India and has lost its relevance after India became a republic. But Priyanka Gandhi came out mocking the name change. Priyanka said that although there is no concept of Durbar, there is a concept of Emperor.
