Singer M.G. Sreekumar has expressed his willingness to become the ambassador of the state government’s waste-free campaign, said Minister M.B. Rajesh.
“M.G. Sreekumar called me and said that throwing waste into the lake was a mistake, and that he is ready to become the ambassador of the waste-free campaign as a role model,” the minister stated.
The minister also said that M.G. Sreekumar has been invited to participate in the national conclave ‘Vrithi 2025’, which will be held in Thiruvananthapuram from April 9 to 13.
“He said he wants to be part of the campaign. This sets a good example. What happened was wrong. He may not have done it himself, but it was still wrong. That’s why he paid the fine immediately. Moreover, he expressed his desire to set an example through this. That’s what we want,” said M.G. Sreekumar, according to the minister.
“He expressed his willingness to cooperate. I welcomed those words. Anyone who is willing to cooperate with this campaign will be encouraged to do so,” the minister added.
