Dhaka: Huge fire in Dhaka. At least 43 people were killed in a fire at a restaurant on Bailey Road on Thursday night. 12 people suffered severe burns. The fire broke out in the seven-storey building around 9.50 pm on Thursday. It is reported that 75 people have been rescued by the fire brigade.
Health Minister Dr. Samantha Lalsen confirmed the death to the media. The minister stated that 33 of the deceased died at DMCH and 10 at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
14 people are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 13 units of Agni Raksha Sena brought the fire under control. No further information available.
