Union Minister of State Sureshgopi Puliorkot reached Srikrishna Swamy Temple to perform Karkataka Vav sacrifice. He came with his wife Radhika and performed the sacrifice. Sureshgopi was under treatment for fever in Delhi for two or three days and returned home today. He reached the temple and performed the sacrificial offering.
The Balitarpanam was presided over by Kalamath Vishnu Namboothiri. If he has visited the temple in the past and made many offerings in the temple, this is the first time he is coming here to perform the Balitarpanam.
Puliorkode Srikrishna Swamy Temple is a temple built by Chembazaranti kings. It is known as Puliyur Kod because it is a forest with lots of tigers.
The temple was managed by the generations of the Chembazaranti kings until about 1985, after which the generations handed over the temple to the public and now the temple administration is being done by holding a temple trust with all the members of the public.
