Mahakumbh Mela; PM to Inaugurate 167 Development Projects Worth ₹5500 Crore

Preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela are progressing, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi arriving in Prayagraj to inaugurate 167 development projects worth ₹5500 crore. Upon his arrival at Bamrauli Airport, Modi proceeded to the Ardh Kumbh, where he took a boat ride to the Sangam banks. After meeting with saints and seeking their blessings, he spent nearly half an hour performing Ganga Aarti at Triveni Sangam.

The Prime Minister performed a ritual by setting up a Kalash and offering prayers to the Ganges. Following this, he conducted the Akshayavat Pradakshina and visited several prominent sites, including Saraswati Kupa and Bade Hanuman Temple.

The inauguration of the MahaKumbh Mela is traditionally marked by Kalash Pooja, symbolizing the beginning of the religious event. Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the Prime Minister will also review the progress of development activities for Kumbh 2025.

In addition to laying foundation stones and inaugurating various projects, PM Modi will launch a chatbot to promote a digital Maha Kumbh Mela experience. He will also unveil a 51-foot statue of Lord Rama and Nishad Raj, built at the Shringverpur Dham.
