The murder of six-year-old Abel from Keezhur, Mala in Thrissur was found to be brutal, according to the police investigation. He was lured to the riverside with the promise of being given a rose apple (chambakka).
After being taken there with the intent of unnatural assault, he was pushed into the pond. The child tried to climb back to the shore three times, but the accused pushed him back each time. Abel’s body will be handed over to his relatives today after the completion of the post-mortem procedures.
The accused, Jojo, has been officially arrested in connection with the murder. Evidence collection will be conducted with the accused today. He has been charged under sections related to murder, POCSO Act, and abduction. Abel, the son of Manjali Ajeesh, was found dead in a pond near their home on Kuzhoor Swarnapallam Road. He had gone missing around 6 PM from near his house. Abel was a UKG student at Thanissery St. Xavier’s School.
