Kochi: After the release of the Hema Committee report, serious allegations have been raised against several actors. One such allegation was made against actor Nivin Pauly by a woman from Kothamangalam, accusing him of rape.
Nivin Pauly was questioned in connection with the rape case by the Special Investigation Team in Kochi. His statement was also recorded regarding a conspiracy complaint he had filed. The woman accused Nivin and others of gang-raping her in Dubai, promising her a role in a film. There are six accused in the case, including Nivin.
Nivin Pauly has also lodged a counter-complaint, alleging that the claims are part of a conspiracy and demanding a detailed investigation.
The woman claimed the assault took place in Dubai on December 14 and 15, 2023. According to her, she was taken to Dubai by Shreya, a woman from Thrissur, and gang-raped at a hotel. She also alleged that videos of the incident were recorded on mobile phones and that she was threatened with the release of the footage. The charges include sections 376, 376D, 354 (related to gang rape and outraging modesty). Nivin Pauly is named as the sixth accused, while the other accused include producer A.K. Sunil, Binu, Basheer, and Kuttan.
