Organ trafficking case in Kochi, person involved in financial transactions arrested

Kochi: One more person who handled the financial transactions in the organ trafficking case in Kochi has been arrested. Sajith Shyam, a resident of Palarivattam, was arrested. The police found that Sajith was handling the financial transactions of the group.

Sabit Nassar, the main link in the organ trafficking case, was arrested and the organ mafia unraveled. Now more names are coming out while he is being taken into custody and being interrogated. The accused also said that the main mastermind is a doctor from Bengaluru.

Earlier Sabit had told about Madhu, a Malayali in Iran. Sajith was caught during the investigation about him. The police came to Sajith after checking Sabit’s bank account details. According to the police, there will be more arrests in the coming days.

Earlier, a 10-member team was formed under the leadership of Aluva DYSP to investigate the incident. Based on the statement of accused Sabit Nasser, who was arrested in the case, the police had extended the investigation to Hyderabad as well. It is reported that people were mainly taken from Bengaluru and Hyderabad for organ donation.
