The sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls today. 58 constituencies including seven in Delhi will vote today. 889 candidates are in the fray. Most contestants are in UP. 470 people are contesting in Uttar Pradesh. Polling will also be held today in Ananthnagar, Jammu and Kashmir, which was shifted due to inclement weather.
Polling will be held in 14 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, 8 in Bihar and West Bengal, 6 in Odisha and 4 in Jharkhand. Mehbooba Mufti, Maneka Gandhi, Manohar Lal Khattar, Dipendra Singh Hooda, Kanhaiya Kumar, Bansuri Swaraj, Manoj Tiwari, Dharmendra Pradhan and Sambit Patra are prominent in the competition. The seventh and final phase of polling is on June 1. Counting of votes will be held on June 4. There is concern among the parties that the fall in the polling percentage in the last 5 phases will continue in the 6th phase.
