Thiruvananthapuram: Devendu, the daughter of Sreetu and Sreejith, natives of Kottukalkonam, was found dead in a well in their backyard. Her uncle Harikumar had confessed to the crime in the incident. However, Neyyattinkara DySP clarified that nothing could be said clearly in the case and that more time was needed to clarify the details.
Earlier, Harikumar’s uncle had confessed to the police that he had killed the child by throwing him alive into a well. However, the police have clarified that Harikumar has been changing some things from time to time. The DySP has also informed that he will share the details with the media soon.
Meanwhile, the police received a crucial WhatsApp chat between the uncle Harikumar and the child’s mother Sreetu. Harikumar and Sreetu had been chatting on WhatsApp for quite some time last night. The police got crucial information from this chat. In the chat, Harikumar asks his sister to come to the room. It is learnt that Harikumar confessed to the crime when he was asked about this.
The reason for the murder is unclear. Harikumar’s statement to the police is that he was thrown alive into the well. However, the police are suspicious that Harikumar is guilty. The police are continuing to question Harikumar. In addition to the child’s mother and father, the uncle and grandmother were at the house yesterday. The police are questioning all four people. It is reported that there are contradictions in the statement of the mother Sreetu.
