Police shut down the establishment that was caught with a pirated copy of the movie ‘Empuraan’

The police have shut down Thamburu, an establishment in Pappinisseri, after seizing a pirated copy of the movie Empuraan. The closure was carried out by the Valapattanam police. Cases have been registered against the proprietors, V.K. Preman (56) and C.V. Rekha (43). Valapattanam Police Inspector T.K. Sumesh stated that there is no need for their immediate arrest and that they only need to appear in court if they receive a notice as part of the investigation.

The police found that the pirated copy of the movie was downloaded using the Torrent app from a website and then distributed to customers. Reports suggest that they obtained the pirated print on the very day of the movie’s release. On Tuesday afternoon, a police team seized the pirated copy from Thamburu, a private public service center. The investigation is being led by Valapattanam SHO B. Karthik and Inspector T.P. Sumesh.
