Despite a party whip, Priyanka Gandhi did not attend the Lok Sabha discussion on the Waqf Bill. She was absent from the Lok Sabha yesterday. Congress had issued a whip to its MPs regarding the Waqf Bill, but Priyanka did not appear in Parliament despite this directive.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, though present in the House, did not speak during the discussion. A total of 288 members supported the bill, while 232 opposed it. The voting was conducted as per the opposition’s demand.
At the same time, Congress leadership has not yet provided any explanation for Priyanka’s absence. MP John Brittas commented that it is concerning when someone abstains from voting unless it is for a serious reason.
