The suicide of ADM Naveen Babu came shortly after accusations of corruption made by PP Divya. As her anticipatory bail plea is set to be heard today, new details are emerging that further implicate Divya in the case.
It has been revealed that PP Divya was responsible for circulating videos that allegedly defamed Naveen Babu. This finding is part of a report submitted by the Joint Commissioner of Land Revenue. The report indicates that Divya collected footage from a local channel that captured a farewell event for Naveen Babu and distributed it to various media outlets.
The Joint Commissioner’s report, which contains these findings, will be submitted to the government today.
Meanwhile, in the matter of granting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a petrol pump in Chengalai, Kannur, where Naveen Babu was accused of deliberately delaying the file, the investigation has not uncovered any evidence or witness statements supporting this claim. Additionally, no proof has been found to substantiate allegations that Naveen Babu accepted bribes.
According to statements from witnesses, the ADM was merely following proper procedure by seeking a report from the town planning department based on a police report highlighting a curve on the road. The planning department had favored the approval, anticipating future road widening. The ADM, it appears, acted within the bounds of the law. PP Divya, who raised the bribery allegations, has yet to provide a statement on the matter.
