The Thiruvananthapuram CJM court is set to deliver its verdict today on the plea filed by UDF candidate Rahul Mankoottathil. The plea seeks relaxation of the bail condition that requires him to appear at the Museum Police Station every Monday.
The police have opposed the plea, stating that granting such relaxation would send the wrong message to society. Rahul, on the other hand, responded by claiming that the police are targeting him despite his candidacy.
Rahul has requested a modification to the bail condition that mandates his physical appearance at the station every Monday to sign the register. In their report to the court, the police reiterated their stance that relaxing this condition would be inappropriate and harmful to public perception.
