More information has been released about the priest Devidasan (Pradeep), who was taken into custody in the murder of a two-year-old girl in Balaramapuram. Pradeep runs an ashram called Mookambika Math in Karikakkam. Harikumar, an accused in the case, had told the police that he was related to him. He was taken into custody after this.
He was previously a parallel college teacher. His name was Pradeep Kumar. Later, he became a Catholic with the name SP Kumar. He worked in various jobs including selling eggs, and finally changed his name to Devidasan and became a sorcerer. He is also known as Mutta Swami. Reports say that Pradeep’s wife’s house is in Balaramapuram.
Sreetu had earlier told the police that Devidasan had taken Rs 30 lakh from her on the promise of buying the land. The financial transactions made with the priest will also be investigated.
Recently, Sreetu and Harikumar had their heads shaved. It is believed that this was on the instructions of the priest. There are reports that Harikumar also worked as an assistant to a sorcerer in Alappuzha. It is being investigated whether the sorcerer is involved in the murder.
