Renowned actress and director Revathy has announced her return to directing, revealing that she is working on a Tamil web series for Disney+ Hotstar. This marks her sixth directorial venture, with cinematographer Siddharth Ramachandran serving as co-director for the series.
Expressing her excitement about returning to direction, Revathy shared her thoughts on social media: “I am very happy to return as a director! This Tamil series for Hotstar, with Siddharth Ramachandran as co-director and cinematographer, begins shooting on October 5. The energy I feel as a director is different… I love it!” She also shared a photo of the director’s copy of the screenplay.
Revathy made her directorial debut with the English film Mitthir, My Friend, released in 2002, which won the National Film Award for Best English Feature Film that year. This is her first collaboration with Disney+ Hotstar as a director.
Most recently, Revathy appeared in the film Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, and she portrayed a character in the 2023 Netflix series Tooth Pari: When Love Bites. Siddharth Ramachandran is known for his notable works in films like Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Aravaan.
