Supreme Court to Reconsider Vishva Hindu Parishad Petition for Free Transport to Sabarimala

The Supreme Court is set to hear the petition filed by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) demanding free transportation from Nilakkal to Pampa for pilgrims visiting Sabarimala. The Kerala state government has requested the court to dismiss the petition. The case is being reviewed by a bench led by Justice Surya Kant.

The VHP claims that the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is charging extra fees from pilgrims, a statement that the KSRTC has denied by submitting an affidavit to the Supreme Court, asserting that no additional charges are levied on the devotees. Meanwhile, the Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam has assured that all pilgrims will be accommodated and the rituals preserved throughout the pilgrimage season.
