The nationwide bank strike called for March 24 and 25 will not affect the SSLC examinations. The question papers stored in selected branches of SBI will be handed over to the exam authorities by bank officials at the designated time. The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has stated that instructions have been given for this arrangement.
The two-day strike is being held to demand the filling of vacancies in banks, the regularization of temporary employees, and the implementation of a five-day workweek. As discussions convened by the Labour Commissioner failed to yield results, the UFBU has decided to proceed with the strike. Another round of discussions is scheduled for today. UFBU is a joint organization comprising nine unions, including BEFI, AIBEA, AIBOC, and NCBE.
Those who need to carry out urgent banking transactions should do so today itself. Since tomorrow is the fourth Saturday and the day after is Sunday, banks will remain closed. With the strike on Monday and Tuesday, banking transactions will only be possible on Wednesday.
