Giving a major boost to Kerala’s development momentum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the prestigious Vizhinjam International Seaport to the nation. The commissioning of the first phase of the Vizhinjam International Seaport took place today. The Prime Minister arrived at the port around 10:15 AM, visited the Port Operation Centre, assessed the operations, and later inaugurated the berth.

Present at the ceremony were Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal, George Kurian, and Suresh Gopi, State Ministers V. Sivankutty, G.R. Anil, V.N. Vasavan, and Saji Cheriyan, Members of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, Adoor Prakash, A.A. Rahim, MLA M. Vincent, Mayor Arya Rajendran, Gautam Adani, Karan Adani, and BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had arrived in Thiruvananthapuram last night for the Vizhinjam port inauguration and was received by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other public representatives. The Prime Minister stayed at Raj Bhavan overnight.
