The government had sought the quashing of the FIR as the stay investigation was illegal for two months. The CBI investigation without the request of the state government or the court is against the federal system. The government has no role in the purchase of the consulate money unitac.

The government argued that Life Mission had not received money from abroad and would not fall under the FCRA. The CBI had alleged that there was a big conspiracy in connection with the Life Mission project and that the state government had accepted foreign aid for the project without the permission of the Central Government. The High Court has rejected a petition seeking an inquiry against the Chief Minister on issues including gold smuggling

The CBI also said that it was a lie that Unitak had won the contract through a tender. The CBI told the court that the money came from the Red Crescent to the consulate’s account and from there was transferred to Unitac.

The CBI has registered a case alleging violation of the Foreign Contribution Act in accepting money for the Life scheme. The state government has stated that it has not received any foreign aid and has only allotted land for the project.
