CAA will not affect the citizenship of Muslims, Central government says there is no obstacle for Muslims to apply for citizenship

New Delhi : As the protests against the notification of CAA rules intensified, the central government responded to the criticism. CAA will not affect Muslim citizenship. The Center explained that there is no need to worry about this. According to the current law, there is no obstacle for Muslims to apply for citizenship.

At the same time, the central government also stated that the law is to control illegal immigration to India. The central government has notified rules to grant Indian citizenship to religious minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

CAA has nothing to do with India’s 18 crore Muslims at present. Nothing in this affects their Indian citizenship. The central government has also clarified that there will be no situation in which any citizen of India will be asked for proof of citizenship due to the implementation of CAA.
