Supreme Court strongly criticized the Mamata government in the West Bengal Teachers Recruitment Scam

Kolkata: Supreme Court strongly criticized the Mamata government in the appointment scam. The court said that if the trust of the people is lost, nothing will be left and this is fraud. If such appointments go wrong, what is left? People will lose faith. Can you accept this?, the court asked the Bengal government. The court also directed that the CBI should not take any action against the officials who created the numerical post until the case is further considered.

Even when the appointment of the West Bengal School Services Commission (SSC) was questioned in the court, the court asked why the supernumerary post was created and the candidates on the waiting list were appointed. The bench headed by the Chief Justice was hearing a plea against the Calcutta High Court judgment quashing the entire recruitment process of 2016 in government-sponsored and aided schools.

Meanwhile, the state government argued that the appointments were unilaterally canceled by the High Court. While hearing the petition earlier, the Supreme Court had refused to issue an interim order staying the Calcutta High Court verdict.
