19-year-old man died after being treated for poisoning from shawarma

Mumbai: A 19-year-old man died after eating shawarma. Pratimesh Bhokse, a native of Mumbai, died. At the same time, many people who ate shawarma from the shop were admitted to the hospital after their health worsened. It is reported that rotten chicken was used in the quail.

Shopkeepers Anand Kamble and Mohammad Ahmed Raza have been taken into custody on the complaint of Pratimesh’s family. On May 3, around 6 pm, Pratimesh ate shawarma from a shop under Trombay police station. The next morning, the young man suffered from abdominal pain and vomiting.

Initially, he sought treatment at a nearby clinic, but his health deteriorated. Pratimesh was admitted to the hospital and died on the morning of May 7. The preliminary investigation revealed that the death was due to poisoning after eating shawarma made from spoiled chicken. The shopkeeper used spoiled chicken for shawarma, which was available at a low price.
