Thrissur: Union Minister Suresh Gopi is set to return to the silver screen. The BJP central leadership has given in-principle approval for him to act in films, with formal permission expected soon. He has been allotted eight days for the initial schedule. In preparation for his role, Suresh Gopi has resumed growing his beard.
Suresh Gopi had previously expressed that he could not forgo acting due to financial commitments needed to sustain various ongoing initiatives. However, despite months of waiting, the BJP leadership had not taken a favorable decision on this matter. He had grown a beard earlier for his role in the movie Ottakkomban. But with uncertainty over permission, he had shaved it off last month.
The film’s shooting is set to begin on December 29 in Thiruvananthapuram and will continue until January 5. The first phase of filming will focus on scenes related to a central prison, and Suresh Gopi’s parts will be shot extensively during this period.
