Bekal Police Allegedly Neglected Abdul Gafoor Murder Complaint, Say Victim’s Siblings

The siblings of Abdul Gafoor Haji have raised allegations against the Bekal Police regarding the investigation into the murder case of Abdul Gafoor from Poochakad. Despite filing a complaint 16 months ago and providing names of suspects, the police allegedly took no action. The same individuals named earlier were arrested only recently, they claimed.

The siblings stated that the delay in capturing the accused was due to the police’s dismissive attitude. They also urged authorities to investigate the financial sources of the arrested group, who are suspected to have connections in Karnataka and influence in various regions.

While expressing satisfaction with the current progress in the case, the family criticized the initial police response, alleging that they were discouraged and dismissed when they approached the station. They also raised concerns about possible external influence on the police and the accused wielding significant power to intimidate locals into silence.

The family has called for a deeper probe into the accused’s network and financial dealings to uncover the full extent of their operations.
