Venjaramoodu mass murder case: Mother, who testified in favor of Afaan, stated that the victim fell from the cot and hit his head

Thiruvananthapuram: Umma Shemi has given a statement in favor of accused Afan in the Venjaramoodu massacre case. Shemi’s statement is that he fell from the bed and hit his head. Shemi did not give any indication that his son had abused him. She did not even mention his son’s name. She had earlier given the same statement to Shemi’s relatives who are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Shemi repeated the statement in her statement given to the magistrate.

Shemi had repeatedly asked to see her younger son and had been asking where Afan was. Shemi’s mother has still not informed her that her son had killed her younger son, his mother-in-law, his brother-in-law, his wife and his girlfriend by hitting them on the head. Her husband Rahim, who was stranded in the Gulf due to a travel ban due to debt, had returned home the previous day. He returned home with the help of social workers to see his wife Shemi, who was undergoing treatment.

Later, he visited the graves of his murdered son and relatives. Rahim clarified that he was unaware that his family had debts of lakhs of rupees in the country.
