Actor Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police in connection with the death of a woman during the release of his film Pushpa 2. The woman, identified as Revathi from Andhra Pradesh, died in a stampede triggered by the actor’s unexpected appearance at a theater. Her son, Sritej, sustained severe injuries.
The incident occurred on the 4th of this month when Revathi, along with her husband and two children, had gone to watch the movie at a theater in Chikkadpally. After the show ended around 10:30 PM, news of Allu Arjun’s arrival caused a sudden rush of people into the theater, resulting in a stampede. Revathi collapsed due to suffocation and later succumbed despite receiving first aid.
Following the incident, police registered a case against Allu Arjun and arrested him from his residence in Jubilee Hills. The actor was subsequently taken to the police station.
Allu Arjun had filed a petition in the Telangana High Court seeking dismissal of the case, arguing that he had informed both the theater management and the police about his planned visit beforehand. The case is under further investigation.
