Attempt to kill a six-year-old girl, police registered a case against the child welfare committee member

Pathanamthitta: An attempt was made to kill a six-year-old girl for allegedly informing the police about the illegal smuggling of rocks and soil. Pathanamthitta Child Welfare Committee member S. Malayalapuzha police registered a case against Karthika. Her husband and CPM branch secretary Arjun Das is the first accused in the case.

Malayalapuzha Police received four complaints. Complaints related to the case were raised on February 26. The first complaint is that a group including Arjun Das and his brother Arun Das reached the house of a party member in Malayalapuzha and threw pepper spray on the child’s face and brandished a knife. The second complaint is that locals, party members and family members attacked Arjun Das and his team. In the third case, a case was registered against Karthika, a member of the Child Welfare Committee.

The house of the complainant is near the house of Arun Das. The complaint is that the complainant and the child were returning after the festival at the Malayalapuzha temple on the last day, when they approached the house of Arun Das and threatened them with a knife. Arjun Das, his brother Arun Das, Arjun Das’s wife Karthika and Arun Das’s wife are accused in the case.
