Delhi Congress president resigned and joined BJP

He resigned as Delhi Congress president and joined the BJP. During the campaigning of the election, the leader of the Congress was lost in Delhi. Arvinder Singh Lovely resigned from the post of Delhi Congress President and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Lovely had resigned as Congress state president citing alliance with AAP. He said that despite the Aam Aadmi Party accusing the Congress of corruption, the old party had formed an alliance with them. “We have got an opportunity to fight for the people of Delhi under the banner of BJP and under the leadership of the Prime Minister,” Lovely said.

“I am fully hopeful and there is no doubt that BJP will form the government in the country with a huge majority. “The BJP flag will fly in Delhi in the coming days as well,” he added.

He joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and party National General Secretary Vinod Tawde. A few Congress leaders, including Raj Kumar Chauhan, a cabinet minister in the Delhi government, also joined the party.
