Kottayam: DC Books former publication manager AV Sreekumar has been arrested on a complaint filed by Jayarajan in connection with the incident in which an autobiography was published under the name of E.P. Jayarajan. After his arrest, he was released on station bail. The arrest was recorded by Kottayam East Police. DC purchased parts of the autobiography from Deshabhimani Kannur Bureau Chief Raghunath. The FIR also states that DC Books wrote and added parts that Raghunath did not include.
CPM leader E.P. Jayarajan’s autobiography ‘Kattan Chayayum Paripuvadayum’ was circulated in PDF format before its publication. The police had found that parts of the autobiography were leaked from Sreekumar. DC Books had earlier suspended AV Sreekumar following the controversy. The police had made Sreekumar the first accused in the FIR. DC had advertised that the book would be released soon. However, E.P. Jayarajan’s stand from the beginning was that he had not written the controversial parts that had come out. However, after the PDF was leaked, DC had announced that the publication would be delayed.
