The gold was seized from Sajeev K, a passenger from Malappuram who arrived on an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah. A total of 1560.5 grams of gold worth Rs 83,39,312 was seized. The smuggled gold alloy was tied to both legs and tried to be smuggled. Following the tip-off, the DRI team conducted an inspection at the Kochi International Airport.
