India’s first Olympic medalist in boxing and Congress leader Vijender Singh has joined the BJP. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Singh was defeated as a Congress candidate from the South Delhi constituency. Vijender, who joined the Congress in 2019, had a close relationship with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka.
This time he had expressed his desire to contest from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seat in Haryana. But Congress had offered Mathura seat. Vijender has joined the BJP after a dispute over the same.
