President Ramnath Kovind has appointed new governors of various states. New governors have been appointed in eight states. Former Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai has been appointed as the Governor of Goa.
Dr. Hari Babu Kampapati is the new Governor of Mizoram. Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan has appointed Arya as the Governor of Tripura. Ramesh Bias from Tripura has been appointed Governor of Jharkhand and former Governor of Himachal Pradesh Bandaru Dattatra has been appointed Governor of Haryana. Thavarchand Gahloth, the current Union Minister for Social Justice, will be the Governor of Karnataka. Mangubhai Chaganbhai Patel has been appointed as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. The changes are seen as a prelude to the reshuffle of the Union Cabinet. Tavarchand Gahlot, who has been appointed as the Governor of Karnataka, is currently a member of the Modi cabinet. According to reports, the cabinet reshuffle will take place in the next few days.
