Army killed eight Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur. A jawan martyred during an anti-Maoist mission. Two jawans were injured. It is reported that there is a fierce encounter between the Maoists and the security forces in the forest area of Abuj Mand.
The army has been fighting with the Maoists in the area for the past two days. Abuj Mand is a hilly area in the forest region comprising Narayanpur, Bijapur district and Dantewada district. Geographically isolated and inaccessible to many people, this area is a hotbed of Maoists.
According to reports, a joint team of security personnel from four districts of Narayanpur, Kankar, Dantewada and Kondagaon was on an anti-Maoist mission when the firing took place in the Abujmar area.
