Sheikh Hasina arrives in India for a two-day visit

New Delhi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on the special invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while visiting China. Sheikh Hasina, who arrived in New Delhi on Friday, was received by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh.

Sheikh Hasina will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and External Affairs Minister S. Jayashankar during the two-day visit. The meeting with the Prime Minister will be held at Hyderabad House on Saturday. The two countries are expected to sign various agreements and memorandums of understanding during the visit.

Hasina will be visiting India in July when she will visit China. Sheikh Hasina also attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In that meeting, Sheikh Hasina had invited the Prime Minister to visit Dhaka. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Sheikh Hasina’s visit will add a lot of strength to India-Bangladesh relations.
