Chennai: 9 people died after consuming Illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu. The tragic incident took place in Kallakurichi. About 40 people are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Many are in serious condition. There are also reports that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Last night, people who bought liquor from fake liquor sellers in Karunapuram met with tragedy. After returning home, they felt headache and vomiting along with abdominal pain. The family members who were in trouble immediately took them to the government medical college and private hospitals. About 40 people are under treatment in Tollukuri and Puducherry. But District Collector Shravan Kumar said that fake liquor has not been confirmed as the cause of death.
Meanwhile, BJP Tamil Nadu President K Annamalai came to the scene, severely criticizing the DMK government and MK Stalin. Annamalai alleged that DMK minister Mastan has close links with those who make fake liquor. He also blamed the failure to take action against the makers of fake liquor for such tragedy.
