Family issues behind the murder of six-year-old girl, stepmother explains how she killed her

Kochi: Police say family problems were also behind the suffocation of a 6-year-old girl by her stepmother in Nellikuzhi, Kothamangalam. Police have found that Anisha was motivated by concerns that her husband’s child from his first relationship would pose a threat to his own children in the future and that her husband was getting closer to his first wife. Although the accused, Anisha, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was influenced by witchcraft, the police’s final conclusion is that this was not a factor in the murder.

Anisha, the stepmother, did not show any emotion while explaining to the police how she had strangled the 6-year-old girl to death in the bedroom of her house. Ajaz Khan, a native of Uttar Pradesh who has been living in Nellikuzhi for more than twenty years, had started living with Anisha, a native of UP, five months ago after he broke up with his first wife. Ajaz Khan’s six-year-old daughter from his first relationship and Anisha’s two-year-old daughter from his first relationship were with him. Recently, Anisha became pregnant from Ajaz Khan.

Anisha was worried that Ajaz Khan’s daughter from his first wife would hinder the future of her children. Anisha also suspected that her estranged first wife was getting back together with Ajaz. This is what led the police to conclude that Anisha decided to kill six-year-old Muskan.
