First Result in Jammu & Kashmir Favors BJP: Darshan Kumar Wins Basohli by 16,034 Votes

In a significant victory, the BJP has opened its account in Jammu, with Darshan Kumar securing a win in the Basohli constituency of Kathua district by a margin of 16,034 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Chaudhary Lal Singh, who had previously contested the Lok Sabha elections but was unsuccessful.

Lal Singh, who lost to BJP’s Dr. Jitendra Singh in the Udhampur Lok Sabha seat, was given a ticket by Congress for the assembly elections. However, he faced defeat once again, this time in the Basohli constituency. Apart from Congress, BSP’s Pankaj Kumar and PDP’s Yoginder Singh were also in the fray, but BJP’s Darshan Kumar emerged victorious.
