Former Nagaland Governor of the CBI chief and Himachal Pradesh DGP Ashwani Kumar as suicide (69). He was found hanging at his residence in Shimla. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
IG and doctors arrived at the spot and started investigation. Ashwani Kumar’s body was found around 7 pm on Wednesday. The initial conclusion of the police was that it was a suicide. The body was shifted to Indira Gandhi Medical College for postmortem.
According to national media reports, Ashwani Kumar has been suffering from depression for some time and is suffering from severe depression.Ashwani Kumar was the CBI director from 2008-2010. Amit Shah was arrested and prosecuted in the Sorabuddin Sheikh fake encounter murder case in Gujarat when he was the CBI chief. The controversial Aarushi Talwar murder case was also proved during his tenure.
