New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stated that the use of Pegasus spyware for national security is not wrong. The court said the government has the right to take measures to ensure national security, and the use of technologies like Pegasus to gather intelligence can be considered part of that effort.
However, a bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh clarified that the court will examine whether the software was used in a manner that violated anyone’s privacy.
