Former Youth Congress State Secretary Quits Party

Palakkad is witnessing a major split within the Congress party. Following P. Sarin, former Youth Congress State Secretary from Palakkad, A.K. Shanib, has also resigned from the party. He made this announcement during a press conference, where he expressed his decision to join forces with the CPI(M). Shanib broke down in tears during the press conference.

Shanib also claimed that there was a covert agreement between Congress and the RSS in Palakkad, Vadakara, and Aranmula, and K. Muraleedharan was a martyr to this deal. He suggested that the Palakkad by-election was a result of this deal. Shanib predicted that the UDF would win the next election in Aranmula but at a significant cost. He criticized the Congress, stating that despite CPI(M) maintaining power, Congress remains unwilling to make necessary corrections.

“After Oommen Chandy passed away, there is no one left to listen to us,” said Shanib, sobbing during the press meet. “No one is willing to hear our grievances. I have grown tired of the theatrics being carried out in the name of Oommen Chandy, which has led me to speak out. I am not alone in this, as many Youth Congress leaders behind me feel the same way,” he added. Shanib accused leaders like Shafi Parambil and V.D. Satheesan of engaging in numerous acts of political betrayal within the party.
