Governor Returns Ordinance on Local Ward Redivision

The governor cut off the government in local ward redistribution. The governor returned the ordinance stating that it could not be signed as the election code of conduct was in effect. The Governor’s explanation is that the permission of the Election Commission is required.

In 2019 too, the governor had withdrawn the ordinance for division of local wards. Then the assembly session was called and the government passed the bill. Later it was decided not to implement ward division in the situation of covid.

The government has sent the ordinance to the governor in a special cabinet meeting with the intention of dividing the wards before the next local elections. When it was returned, the government was cut off. The government has decided to convene the assembly session on June 10. If the congregation joins, then the ordinance is irrelevant. Then the government will be forced to bring the bill.
