Kerala Gold Smuggling case : Custody of Sivasankar extended till November 12

The ED custody of M Sivasankar extended to one more day by the Special PMLA court in connection with the gold smuggling case as his custody period ended today. ED submitted interrogation report before the court which alleged multiple offences against Sivasankar. In the report ED alleged that Sivasankar was aware of the gold smuggling through diplomatic channel, the money laundering regarding KFON and Life Mission Projects. ED interrogated Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case, yesterday in Thiruvananthapuram. In the report, Swapna said that more persons in the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s office is aware of the gold smuggling and this has put CM’s office more defensive. She also disclosed that Sivasankar handed documents relating to KFON and Life mission projects to Swapna. She also received crores of rupees as commission in connection with these projects. Sivasankar also received 1 crore from Khalid as commission and it was handed over to him by Swapna. Later this money was retrieved by the probing team. ED had informed the court that Sivasankar is aware of all these and the case will not limit to Life Mission case only and more interrogation is necessary. Meanwhile the Economic Offenses Court issued an arrest warrant against Khalid upon the request of Customs.
