The Kerala High court stays arrest of actress Sunny Leone in the fraud case while considering Sunny Leone’s anticipatory bail in Kochi. The court also ruled that there is no objection in questioning the actress.

Actor Sunny Leone has filed an anticipatory bail application in the Kerala High court on Tuesday, in connection with an alleged case of cheating filed against her by a Perumbavoor-based event manager. In her statement to the Kerala Police Crime Branch, the actor had admitted to taking a booking amount from the complainant in exchange for her commitment to attend a number of events in Kerala. The FIR in this regard was registered at the Crime Branch Police Station in Kerala’s Ernakulam. The complainant alleged that Sunny Leone received Rs 29 lakh on 12 different occasions since 2016 in exchange for her commitment to attend various inaugural events. On Sunday, the Kerala Police crime branch questioned Sunny Leone on the basis of the event manager’s complaint. As she was being questioned, Sunny Leone had admitted to taking the money. She, however, claimed that the events she was asked to attend were postponed on at least five occassions. This was not my fault, the actor had told officials. Sunny Leone had also told the Kerala Police crime branch that she was ready to attend the events at any time if the date is fixed in advance.

The actor has been in Kerala for the last one month shooting for a program for a private channel. Sunny Leone, along with her husband Daniel Weber and three children, has been living at a resort on Poovar Island in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district.
